Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to care for a child with complex medical needs within their own home. We are looking for two carers who have worked with children between the ages of 2-7 years old and have a theoretical knowledge of child development. It is essential that you have had previous experience working with children who have tracheostomy and gastrostomy care needs. We are ideally looking for carers that have knowledge of Somerset Total Communication or Makaton sign language. The successful applicants will ideally live within half an hour\'s travelling time of Taunton and the role will include nights and weekends, so applicants must be flexible with their working hours. We are looking for people that have first class communication skills, a confident clinical ability and an appreciation of the social aspects of working in a homecare setting. This is a terrific chance to work in a highly rewarding community care role with a lovely child on a one to one basis. This post also provides individuals the opportunity to work in other care packages in the Somerset area, in return for your hard work and commitment we will reward you with pay rates of £11 - £19.50 per hour plus access to a stakeholder pension scheme, ongoing free training and development and 24 hour professional support.
