Test Engineer
Competitive salary and benefits. Our Client based in Wiltshire is a defence company with design, development, assembly and test skills specialising in sub-systems for weapon and aerospace applications.
They are very strongly focused towards the development and manufacture of products which require the integration of their mechanical and electronics expertise.
The job is to ensure all activities are undertaken in full compliance with H&SE Legislation and Company procedures. Provide engineering and technical support to Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business. Faultfind, repair and test new and existing electronic products, tooling, test boxes and calibration equipment. Component level fault diagnosis using through- hole component and surface mount technology. Design and produce new electronic products. Technical support and liaison with external contractors. Provide on and off site support for Service Engineers at customer and MoD locations throughout the UK. Offsite cover during holiday and sickness periods. Record test results and faults found on the equipment during compilation of survey and condition report. Provide technical support and reports. Comply with relevant customer and company quality and product related procedures and processes. Assist with the preparation of formal estimates of costs of labour and materials. Maintain production and product related process documentation. Provide technical support and reporting for the customer on project related technical matters and the provision of commercially related and equality issues to Dept Manager. You will be a Self-Starter with problem solving ability. Be able to work alone or as part of a team. Can-do attitude. Good experience of work in a defence orientated test environment.
