    Legal Secretary (Commercial Property) - Bath - £Market rate (dependant on experience) + excellent company benefits


    Our client is a leading South West legal adviser firm ranked among the top ten in Bristol. They are forward-thinking and proactive in their provision of a complete range of legal services for individuals and businesses. They have balanced portfolio of commercial, agricultural and private client services in well-defined markets by specialist lawyers. With offices in Bath, Bristol, London and Swindon, and nearly 400 staff, the firm has an impressive national and international client base.

    Currently they are recruiting for experienced Legal Secretary in their Commercial Property to add to current team. You must be excellent communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills. Typing speed must be at 60 wpm + combined with excellent accuracy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    To provide audio and copy typing services, producing letters and documents utilising word processing facilities as appropriate, ensuring the highest levels of speed, accuracy, presentation & confidentiality.
    To manage the filing system, including file management on the word processor, following correct procedure to aid rapid retrieval and provide an effective source of information. Also photocopying appropriate documents, and setting up and archiving files.
    To respond quickly and efficiently to all telephone calls, ensuring that an appropriate answer is given or an accurate message is taken and passed to the relevant member of the team for action. Also to provide an efficient and professional service for new and existing clients, over the telephone and face to face, to promote the firms image and increase business.
    To maintain a diary system, logging all appointments including a brought forward system for bills and other reminders to ensure the smooth and efficient time management of fee earner/partner/BUD.
    To prepare and complete all necessary forms relevant to the team delegated by the Fee Earner/Partner/BUD, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy.
    To complete transfers, under instructions from a fee earner, of legal aid disbursements and monies on clients accounts, using accounts office printouts, to ensure accurate settlement of both client and Firm accounts.
    To produce typed copies of interim/final bills, completion statements, legal aid and taxation bills, that have been drawn up by the Fee Earner, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and presentation.
    In Fee Earners absence to monitor the daily post and to seek advice in responding to urgent correspondence to ensure that client needs are met as part of the Firms professional service.
    When workload permits to provide a secretarial service as and when required for other Fee Earners/teams during staff absence through illness or holiday, to ensure the best possible service to its whole client base.

    KEY ATTRIBUTES

    Previous Experience
    knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    two years' legal secretarial experience
    min 60 wpm typing speed

    Reliability: able to provide an efficient and high quality secretarial service.
    Interpersonal: able to integrate effectively into a large team, remaining flexible at peak times.
    Communication: possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
